Take a miniaturized scene built on a small stand, enclose it within a transparent sphere, fill with water and small flakes that, when shaken, will be "snow," and you not only have a snow globe, you have a little bit of magic right in your hands. There's just something about those tiny snowflakes falling down slowly through the water that hearkens us back to our childhoods and happy days, when the sights and the sounds of the season warm the winter air and brighten the dark nights.
